About the Great Place To Work certification
We believe the voice of the employee is most important. That’s why this certification is 100% based on the Trust Index™ employee survey. This survey consists of 60 statements on various themes. With this survey, we measure trust, pride and fun in organizations.

These are the requirements for certification:
- A score of 70% or higher on the Trust Index;
- A minimum response rate;
- A completed Culture Brief™.
The certificate is valid for one year. Organizations with the highest scores on the Trust Index have a chance to make the Best Workplaces™ list.
Working at W. P. Carey
WPC view its employees as its core asset. Throughout an employee’s lifecycle, employees can expect to be the focal point of the business and at the center of every decision.
From the moment a candidate engages in the recruitment process all the way through the onboarding process we hold ourselves accountable to making sure candidates feel supported, guided, and engaged. We host multiple contact moments throughout the onboarding journey – to address questions or any uncertainties.
On the first day, we prioritize offering a warm welcome, by getting a new hire comfortable with the premises, introducing them to as many colleagues as possible, and by having all equipment and their workspace set up and ready for them from the moment they arrive. We also provide a personal welcome package including company merchandise.
We understand that the amount of information to absorb may be overwhelming, we therefor prepare training and onboarding schedules ahead of the start date to ensure that the first weeks are organized and structured including sufficient breaks and flexibility.
HR hosts an onboarding meeting within the first two weeks of joining, including all new hires for that period. This way new employees get the opportunity to build relationships with their peers right away. During this session, important topics are covered to provide a clearer understanding of our company history, our culture and values, our structure, and policies, as well as information about important programs that we host that might help a new employee feel more engaged from the get-go.
WPC values successful, healthy, and long-term working relationships, and we know that the early days of a new hire set the foundation to achieve this - making any new hire our top priority.
