How to become a Best Workplace
Only certified organizations have a chance to win the title. Certification starts with the Trust Index:
*In addition to the required Trust Index score of at least 70%, a minimum response rate and submission of the Culture Brief are also required.
Frequently asked questions
Certification is the first step toward a spot on the Best Workplaces List. Certified organizations with at least 20 employees automatically stand a chance of winning the title Best Workplace.
For organizations in the Large category (500 or more employees), the situation is somewhat more nuanced. For these organizations it is required to also write a Culture Audit. The Culture Audit provides insight into the organization's culture and consists of six open-ended questions about trust, meaningful values, leadership, maximizing everyone's potential and innovativeness.
Certification is therefore a prerequisite for participation in the Best Workplaces. You cannot apply exclusively for the Best Workplaces, you always start with certification.
Furthermore, there are two important differences between certification and the Best Workplaces lists:

Minimum number of employees. To be certified, there must be a minimum of 10 employees working at your organization. For the Best Workplaces, the minimum is 20 employees.

Exclusivity of title. Of all the organizations that run the Trust Index, a large proportion achieve certification. Of these, only 50 organizations make it onto the list of Best Workplaces in the Netherlands.
Participation in the Best Workplaces is included in the price of certification, and if you are certified and meet the other requirements, you automatically win the title. So you pay nothing extra for this.
Only certified organizations have a chance to be on the Best Workplaces List. So certification is always the first step to getting on the list.
Step 1: certification
The following conditions apply for certification:

A score of 70% or higher on the Trust Index™. At least 70% of your employees give positive answers to the statements from the Trust Index.

Sufficient response rate on the Trust Index. We calculate the minimum response rate based on the size of your organization.

A completed Culture Brief™. In the Culture Brief we ask for additional information about your organization.
Step 2: Best Workplaces
Every year we publish the list of Best Workplaces in the Netherlands. This list is based on the Trust Index employee survey and consists of 4 categories (Small, Medium, Mid Large and Large). Certified organizations with the highest Trust Index score have a chance of making the list.
For organizations in the Large category (500 or more employees), the Culture Audit also counts. The Culture Audit provides insight into your organization's culture and consists of six open-ended questions about trust, meaningful values, leadership, maximizing everyone's potential and innovativeness.
The ranking of the list is determined using the Great Place To Work For All formula.
International lists
If you are on the Dutch Best Workplaces list, you automatically have a chance of winning a European Best Workplaces title in the same list year, provided you meet the additional requirements.
After you register your organization, one of our experts will contact you by phone as soon as possible to schedule an introductory meeting.
